JACKSONVILLE, FL—Jonathan Nehmer + Associates (JN+A) and HVS Design have started the renovation of the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront’s 963 guestrooms.
Construction on the $18-million renovation is set to begin in mid-April. The renovation is scheduled to be finished in October. The Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront renovation includes all guestrooms and suites; the Regency Club; the rooftop fitness center; and the addition of new meeting rooms on the fourth floor of the Terrace Building.
The location of the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville along the St. Johns River, provided the ideal inspiration for the design team. Outdated color palettes in the guestrooms and suites have been replaced with blue hues and wood tones. The design team also incorporated regional architectural elements into the distinctive artwork package. Subtle textures and patterns in the furnishings reflect the constant movement of the water and the city creating an oasis in the sky, according to the firms.
“We are excited to be a part of this dynamic renovation,” said Warren Feldman, CEO of JN+A and principal of HVS Design.“The Hyatt Regency Jacksonville is a perfect example of our firms’ ability to provide our clients with turnkey services that highlight our creativity as well as our construction oversight expertise.”
The Hyatt Jacksonville is owned by Fortress Investment Group and Westmont Hospitality Group and managed by Hyatt Hotels & Resorts.
