CHICAGO— Hyatt Hotels Corp. said it is using a new one-cup coffeemaker for its in-room beverage service. The hotel chain is now using the CV1 by Hamilton Beach, a one-cup coffeemaker from Courtesy Products. The coffeemaker uses a disposable brew basket and brews into a disposable cup, thus eliminating the need for a glass carafe and heating plate. Each coffeemaker is equipped with a custom wire basket filled with Café Valet gourmet french roast coffee in a disposable brew basket, tea bags and custom-printed disposable cups promoting Hyatt’s website, Hyatt.com. Norm Canfield, vp/rooms for Hyatt Hotels Corp., said that the one-cup coffeemaker “provides a more efficient way to meet guests needs.” He added that it is a safe and sanitary way to offer hot beverages to guests. The CV1 In-Room Coffee System is “a win-win proposition” for Hyatt properties, said Mark Jensen, president of Courtesy Products. “It eliminates the problems associated with typical in-room coffeemakers and it gives guests what they want, a great cup of coffee fast,” Jensen said. There are currently 207 Hyatt hotels and resorts around the globe.
