NEW ORLEANS—Jon Burckin has been named director of business development for HRI Lodging.

“Jon will be responsible for identifying new management opportunities as our company continues to expand across the country,” stated Gary Gutierrez, president of HRI Lodging. “Jon’s nationwide experience in the financial side of the hospitality industry perfectly fits our commitment to delivering extraordinary value to prospective partners.”

Before joining HRI Lodging, Burckin was the managing director of business development for Access Point Financial, a direct hospitality lending and advisory platform based in Atlanta. In that role, he managed relationships with major hospitality brands, hotel operators and owners. He also originated and structured lending opportunities on new construction, redevelopment and repositioning of hotel assets across the U.S.

Burckin previously worked 17 years for Scotiabank, Canada’s third largest bank, where he most recently managed the firm’s relationships in the hospitality industry from the New York office. He also worked on Scotiabank’s corporate banking operations in San Francisco and global risk management in Toronto.
