LONDON—IHG Hotels & Resorts’ upper-upscale brand, Hotel Indigo, will grow its global footprint by 14 properties across the globe this year. Already in 2020, the brand has opened locations in Detroit; Tallahassee, FL; Rochester, MN; Spokane, WA; Larnaca, Cyprus; Verona, Italy; Gora, Japan; Bath, U.K.; and Dubai, which opened this month.
Coming soon are Hotel Indigo properties in Chattanooga, TN; Columbus, GA; Vancouver, WA; Cleveland; and Miami.
The 269-room Hotel Indigo Dubai Downtown, the first for the brand in the Arabian Gulf, is located along the banks of the Dubai Creek, close to Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Mall. Each floor of the hotel is dedicated to one artist, through collaborations with the Alserkal Cultural Foundation, Tashkeel and XVA Gallery. It also collaborated with Fatima Bint Mohamed Initiative to create rugs as part of the overall creative concept. The initiative is the UAE’s carpet production and community development program empowering more than 4,000 female artisans in Afghanistan.
The property also offers four F&B outlets on varying floors, including juice bar and concept store Bakala Jooos, Off the Wall cocktail bar and Open Sesame social eatery.
Set to open in January 2021 is the 145-room Hotel Indigo Adelaide Markets, the brand’s first property in Australia.
