Hotel Hendricks to Debut in NYC; More Openings in Gateway Cities

NATIONAL REPORT—In big markets like New York City, Miami and Chicago, hoteliers are adding properties to the skyline. A boutique property, a wellness-focused hotel and an extended-stay option are some of the new openings:

Hotel to Open in Midtown, NYC

Hotel Hendricks is set to open this April in New York City,  27 stories over Fifth Ave. The property has views of The Empire State Building and is located near the Fashion District and Bryant Park. The hotel and its 176 guestrooms are designed by LA-based interior designer Marcello Pozzi along with furniture handmade in Italy. The property also has two rooftop bars and a Latin-inspired restaurant.

Miami Hotel Has Wellness in Mind

Baptist Health South Florida and Interstate Hotels & Resorts opened the Hilton Miami Dadeland, a hotel in the Kendall area of Miami with a focus on wellness. Designed by local Coral Gables Architect, CallisonRTKL, the property has 184 rooms, including 34 suites. Hilton’s Five Feet to Fitness in-room wellness concept is part of the in-room offerings, bringing 11 different fitness equipment and accessory options into the guestroom.

The hotel also has a health and wellness center with fitness room, meditation garden, heated outdoor pool and walking and jogging trails at the property. In addition, there’s food and beverage options including Wall of Water bar with bottled water from around the world. There’s also 10,000 sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor meeting space including a 6,250-sq.-ft. ballroom with private outdoor patio and dedicated pre-function areas.

Home2 Suites by Hilton Opens its 300th Location

Home2 Suites by Hilton Chicago River North has opened. It is the brand’s 300th property. Developed by Akara Partners and managed by Aimbridge Hospitality, Home2 Suites by Hilton Chicago River North has 206 suites, a combined laundry and fitness area, Home2 MKT for grab-and-go items, and the Inspired Table, a complimentary daily breakfast. Constructed by Mortenson, Home2 Suites by Hilton Chicago River North is located close to Chicago’s Magnificent Mile and the Navy Pier.
