WHITE PLAINS, NY– A new management contract has been inked between Lampsa Greek Hotels Company and CIGA Hotels Greece, a subsidiary of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, for the management of the historic Hotel Grande Bretagne in Athens under Starwoods banner for the next 25 years. In connection with the new management agreement, Lampsa closed for renovations on December 31, 2001. Renovations and refurbishments are to be completed in time for the hotel to re-open in early 2003. The Hotel Grande Bretagne is a 364-room landmark property located at Constitution Square, in the heart of Athens. Upon re-opening, the hotel will be fully restored and will feature a new 4,450-square-foot ballroom, a health club and spa, along with a rooftop swimming pool, sun deck and a restaurant overlooking the Acropolis.
