Hospitality Lodging Systems Inks Deals for Five Budgetels

ATLANTA—Hospitality Lodging Systems has signed agreements that will add five properties to its portfolio of Budgetel Inns & Suites.

The hotels are conversions in Tallahassee and Pompano Beach, FL; Macon, GA; Marion, IN; and Watsonville, CA. The agreements were signed in the past 30 days and the properties are expected to be operational as Budgetel hotels within 60 days.

“Budgetel offers owners a fresh brand, especially in markets that are saturated by other hotel names,” stated Doug Collins, Chairman of Hospitality Lodging Systems, which assumed management of the brand on Nov. 1.

“That’s why we expect to double our existing portfolio of 19 properties within the next six months — and these five new hotels are an important first step.”

HLS features such benefits as one of the industry’s most owner-friendly contracts, which includes an annual exit opportunity; flat monthly royalty and marketing fees; and a reservation management system with multiple internet booking sources.  The company also operates the new Haven Hotel soft brand, which was unveiled in December.
