ATLANTA—Hospitality Lodging Systems (HLS), based here, has added three new Budgetel hotels to its portfolio, all in Alabama and scheduled to open in June.
The new Budgetel properties include two 130-room hotels, converted from independents in Birmingham and Hoover; and a 65-room hotel converted from an Econo Lodge in Mobile.
“Our family of brands are attractive to owners who want to take back control of their franchise contract—with more operating freedom, fewer mandated amenities, and stronger cash flow,” said Doug Collins, chairman and CEO of HLS. “We offer lots of upside and no downside.”
HLS, which began operation 19 months ago with 19 Budgetel hotels, now has 43 properties: 32 Budgetel hotels, five Haven Hotels and six AmeriVu hotels.
