JEKYLL ISLAND, GA—InterContinental Hotels Group has revealed that a Holiday Inn Resort will be  opening here later this year following a $20 million renovation.

The latest addition to the portfolio, which will include more than 30 hotels worldwide after the opening, will be located on 1,200 square feet of unobstructed beachfront space here. The hotel was previously an independent property and is expected to have 157 rooms, including 40 suites.

“We are thrilled that the Holiday Inn Resort brand is continuing to expand and building a strong presence in many of the world’s best family destinations,” stated Joel Eisemann, chief development officer, the Americas, IHG.
