YORK, PA—HREC Investment Advisors has arranged the sale of the 124-room Yorktowne Hotel, a historic, full-service hotel here, to the York County Industrial Development Authority.

The new owner plans substantial renovations and improvements to the property, according to HREC.

SVPs Ketan Patel and Kevin Hanley in HREC’s Washington, DC, office and President/Senior Principal Geoff Davis in New York, represented the seller, VIII-Hotel II P Loan Portfolio-Yorktowne, LLC, during the transaction.

The Yorktowne Hotel first opened on October 17, 1925. Over the years, many dignitaries frequented the hotel, including Eleanor Roosevelt, Lucille Ball, Richard Nixon, Mickey Mantle and Johnny Cash. In 1992 Bill Clinton, Al Gore and their wives were guests at The Yorktowne while taking a bus tour following Clinton’s designation as the Democratic presidential candidate.
