SAN FRANCISCO— A January 2006 opening is planned for the Hilton San Francisco Financial District. The 552-room hotel will open in a landmark building following completion of a $34-million renovation. Located at 750 Kearny St., the hotel will have more than 20,000 square feet of meeting space; a restaurant called “750, A Taste of the Mediterranean” a spa; and 450 underground public parking spaces. Guestrooms will be spacious, averaging 300 square feet, and each will be equipped with an expansive wrap-around work desk and ergonomic chair, wired and wireless high-speed Internet access and MP3-compatible alarm clock. In addition, the Hilton will offer a 24-hour business center with fax, computers and photocopy machines. Randall King has been appointed general manager of the upscale business hotel, which will be managed by the Dow Hotel Co. King has more than 23 years of experience in the hospitality industry and served as general manger of the Radisson Hotel Sacramento prior to his appointment. He continues to hold the position of regional director of operations for the Dow Hotel Co.
