MCLEAN, VA—Hilton Worldwide has introduced Fun Finder, an interactive feature available exclusively within the Hilton HHonors app that shares personalized recommendations, insider resort information and special offers.
It is currently available at Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort and Hilton Anatole, and will soon be expanding to other Hilton resorts.
Here’s how it works: Using WiFi, GPS and beacon technology, Fun Finder acts as a personal travel guide. It understands what guests enjoy and provides recommendations based on their arrival and departure information, preferences collected in a pre-arrival survey, the current time and their location in the resort, according to the company.
When Hilton HHonors members—who have opted into the feature—stay in the heart of Honolulu at Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort, they can receive a welcome invitation for an island walking tour or a drink special at the bar as a thanks for attending the Waikiki Starlight Luau.
At Hilton Anatole, an expansive convention hotel and cultural center in Dallas’ Design District, Hilton HHonors members can receive notifications for the start of happy hour at the new JadeWaters pool complex’s swim-up bar, or get background on the collection of art and historical artifacts in the property’s museum.
“We are making it easier than ever for our guests to be spontaneous and seize every opportunity to enjoy their stay, giving our Hilton HHonors members the inside scoop before they even have to ask,” said Joshua Sloser, VP of digital product innovation, Hilton Worldwide. “Fun Finder is a huge leap forward for the hotel industry. We’re artfully blending technology with exceptional experiences in a way that gives travelers a smarter, more personalized stay.”
Fun Finder can help guests navigate a resort to make sure they don’t miss out on any activities or offers. It directs you to the optimal walking path to a destination and can help if a guest is lost, especially at larger resort properties, according to the company.
Hilton HHonors members can start exploring the resort’s offerings and make reservations for dinner or the spa before catching their flight. In addition, real-time messaging with the resort’s team members can address any needs, whether it’s extra pillows or a late checkout, according to the company.
“We’re reimagining the guest experience, finding new ways our Hilton HHonors app can better connect members to what they love,” said Rich DiStefano, senior director of mobile products, Hilton Worldwide. “Fun Finder will also transform how our hotels manage themselves, as it provides real-time insights on everything from where additional team members are needed to what time of day guests are most interested in fitness classes.”
