CARMEL, CA—The Highlands Inn here has become the Hyatt Carmel Highlands.

The hotel has undergone an extensive renovation of its 48 guestrooms, which included custom furnishings, a neutral color scheme, flat screen televisions and DVD players. The project was handled by Beatrice Girelli of Indidesign.

Further renovations of the hotels public spaces, including its lounges and restaurant will begin by the end of the year. A Stay Fit fitness center will be added in 2011.
