AUSTIN, TX—Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals, producers of the Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC), will expand the event globally by also producing HITEC Europe and HITEC Asia in 2017. Established in 1972, HITEC is the world’s largest hospitality technology show.
“Expanding HITEC to Asia and Europe has been a goal HFTP has worked toward for some time and I am thrilled we are ready to take the next step,” said HFTP Global President Daniel Conti, director of finance for the Wyndham Grand Jupiter at Harbourside Place. “As a global association with members spanning six continents, we believe that the expansion of HITEC will be an opportunity to build the exchange of information within the hospitality technology community, which has gained great importance within the industry.”
HITEC 2015 was held June 15 to 18 here at the Austin Convention Center and was one of the highest attended with 6,051 hospitality professionals representing 55 countries. The conference, which had more than 115 speakers with 70 educational sessions, addressed important issues including system selection, mobile and guestroom technology, data security, PCI compliance and more. The exhibit floor was home to 823 exhibit booths showcasing the latest in hospitality technology products and services.
HITEC 2016 is slated for June 20 to 23 at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. More information related to HITEC Europe and HITEC Asia will be released as it is available.
