TALLAHASSEE, FL— The 100th Staybridge Suites hotel made its grand opening here today and, in doing so, allowed the Staybridge Suites brand to arrive at the 100 property mark faster than any other brand in the upscale extended-stay segment. Attending the event for the InterContinental Hotels Group brand were such IHG executives as Stevan Porter, president of the Americas, James Anhut, senior vp of brand development at IHG and Robert Radomski, vp of brand management for Staybridge Suites. The owner of the new 104-suite Staybridge Suites Tallahassee is Summit East Investors 1. Dellisart Lodging is the operator. Douglas Artusio, CEO of Dellisart, was also on hand for the event. Located in a 117-acre hi-tech “smart campus,” the hotel features a surround-sound “Just Like Home Theater” that’s adjacent the hotel’s great room as well as kitchen and bathroom design features that are a part of the latest Staybridge Suites prototype that was launched last fall. Currently, Staybridge Suites has more than 100 hotels in its development pipeline. Approximately 30 of those hotels are expected to open by the end of this year. The brand is expected to completely double in size within the next few years. Staybridge was also the fastest brand in its class to reach the 50- and 75-hotel marks. Recently, the 2006 Annual Market Metrix Hospitality Index ranked Staybridge highest in terms of guest satisfaction among upscale hotels.
