LONDON—Generator, the design-led hostel group, will debut in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2016. The property will open its doors in the city’s technology hub, at 10 Torsgata, just in time for Swedish National Day.
According to the company, DesignAgency, the Toronto-based interior design firm behind every Generator project, will transform the building with upscale micro-chic accommodations, local flare and vibrant spaces that reflect the city’s aesthetics and culture. Accommodations will include suites, premium private rooms and shared hostel lodging, all with en-suite bathrooms.
The property will also feature social spaces, bars and restaurants available to both property guests and locals, integrating art, music, design and performances from Stockholm-based artists.
The 11-floor hostel will be located near Central Station and Drottninggatan, a major pedestrian street lined with shops and restaurants that runs through downtown Stockholm.
“I am delighted to bring Generator’s leading edge concept to my home country Sweden with an amazing location in Stockholm,” said Fredrik Korallus, CEO of Generator. “With this property, we are introducing a unique lifestyle experience to the capital by connecting the Millennial global traveler with the vibrant Stockholm community.”
Josh Wyatt, Generator’s chief strategic officer, said, “We are very proud of having completed this deal to open our 11th property, and we look forward to seeing what this new venture unveils for our expansion strategy and continue working to rapidly increase the brand’s portfolio in Europe and beyond. Stockholm is one of the most exciting capitals in Europe, and we are going to partner up with the best local brands to deliver a true hub for culture, arts, events and food.”
