LONDON—Generator, the design-led hostel group, has appointed Fredrik Korallus as CEO and Josh Wyatt as chief strategic officer.
Korallus will lead the Generator business and drive the brand, including further expansion in Europe and the imminent entry into the North American market, according to the company.
Korallus brings more two decades of hospitality, leisure and travel experience, having led brands such as Radisson Blu, Park Inn by Radisson and Regent Hotels. Most recently, he served as CEO for The Hotel Collection, the private equity-owned hotel group, where he led a repositioning and consequent sale of the business. Prior, Korallus spent more than 20 years with Carlson Rezidor, holding key commercial and operational positions in Asia, Europe and The Americas.
“The hostel sector is one of the most exciting areas in the hospitality industry, and Generator is leading the charge to redefine it. We have a powerful brand, strong team and a wide foothold in key European destinations such as Barcelona, Berlin, London and Paris. I look forward to accelerating our imminent growth throughout Europe and in the United States,” he said.
Wyatt, who, on behalf of Patron Capital, led the origination of the Generator business in 2007, has been involved with Generator in his capacity as partner and senior advisor at Patron. He has defined the strategy to build the fast-paced growth and vision for the brand, according to the firm.
In the new role, Wyatt will collaborate with Korallus to drive strategy innovation for the brand, set the vision for the business and accelerate global growth. Wyatt shared: “The vision for Generator continues to focus on delivering exceptional memories for our customers through innovative design and unique cultural touch points. With strong leadership, brand clarity and an excellent pipeline of new sites, we are ideally positioned for further rapid growth, and I look forward to collaborating with Fredrik and the Generator team to lead the brand’s global rollout.”
