DALLAS—Dean Savas, EVP of franchise development, G6 Hospitality, is retiring effective Sept. 30.
An industry veteran for more than 45 years, Savas began his career with G6 Hospitality in 1992 as a regional VP in Chicago. In 1997, Savas was appointed VP of development and moved to the company’s headquarters in Dallas where he formulated the groundwork for the brand’s franchising business. His dedication and strong relationships played an instrumental role in the brand’s strategic development, including the expansion to more than 1,400 locations across the United States and Canada, as well as international markets such as India and Latin America.
“Dean has been a well-respected leader and esteemed peer since he joined the organization. His unwavering commitment and excitement for the growth of our brands will be missed among everyone who knew and worked with him,” said Jim Amorosia, president and CEO of G6 Hospitality. “I’ve always admired his ability to balance both the needs of our franchise partners and the enterprise while developing robust relationships and win-win solutions. I’m confident that after 25 years, his passion and dedication has transferred to the entire franchise development group.”
Savas came to G6 Hospitality with more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, having previously managed the development and operation of various midscale, economy and budget hotels.
Following Savas’ departure, Mike McGeehan has been promoted to the role of North American development officer, supporting the company’s development strategy and programs. McGeehan will report directly to Rob Palleschi, chief development officer of G6 Hospitality, who will be responsible for leading the entire development organization, including the international expansion of the brands.
