DALLAS—G6 Hospitality has signed an area development agreement with Auromatrix Holdings Pvt. Ltd (Auromatrix) as part of its global portfolio expansion. The partnership will introduce Motel 6, Studio 6 and Hotel 6 brands to India, marking G6 Hospitality’s first foray into this market.

Auromatrix is a commercial hotel developer, hotel/resort owner and management operator. The development agreement between the companies comprises a total of 40 properties under the Motel 6, Studio 6 and Hotel 6 brands by the end of 2022.

“Our mission is to build on the iconic heritage of our brands to become the universally recognized leader in economy lodging, and expanding our portfolio to such an important market like India marks a significant milestone for G6 Hospitality,” said Jim Amorosia, president and CEO of G6 Hospitality. “Motel 6, Studio 6 and Hotel 6 operations in India are designed to suit the specific needs of travelers in the area. Combined with the expertise of our partners at Auromatrix, we are uniquely positioned to successfully launch a compelling new lodging option to both leisure and business travelers.”

G6 Hospitality is also extending its footprint to Central America, signing a new area development agreement with InterAmerican Development Group Inc. (IADG) to bring its newly designed brands—Hotel 6 and Estudio 6—to Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama. IADG is a new entity formed by Grupo Portalis, Leisure Partners and Calvet & Asociados with the goal of developing and operating a budget hotel platform in all of Central America under the Hotel 6 and Estudio 6 brands. With this new partnership, the company plans to expand its portfolio opening up to 10 Hotel 6/Estudio 6 properties within the next five years.

“In 2014, we saw an opportunity to expand our footprint to Latin America as a response to increased demand in the region’s economy travel segment,” said Amorosia. “We initiated our strategic global expansion plan in Mexico and will continue in growing our portfolio to other areas in the region to offer leisure and business travelers in every destination the best budget-conscious lodging options.”
