LOS ANGELES—L.E. Hotels has added Hotel Hacienda de Abajo, a restored 17th century sugar plantation located in the Canary Islands, on the island of San Miguel de La Palma (La Palma) to its Luxe Collection.
The adults-only property is the first hotel built in Tazacorte, the Spanish municipality known for having the most sunshine a year, according to the company. From an 18th-century table to a sculpture of the Virgin Mary, the property has more than 1,300 antiquities—some dating all the way back to the first century. The historic property is set between vegetation and the coast, offering views of both the sea and banana crops.
As with all members in the premier Luxe Collection by L.E. Hotels, Hotel Hacienda de Abajo will now receive full access to a suite of L.E. Hotels’ services. From extensive communication channels and a global distribution system to regional sales offices, all services are aimed to increase Hotel Hacienda de Abajo and all L.E. Hotels property’s visibility, viability and revenue.
“Luxe Collection classifications are not easy to come by,” said Efrem Harkham, founder and chairman of L.E. Hotels. “To start, a property must have historical significance, a prime location and the finest services and amenities, and Hotel Hacienda de Abajo meets the mark in every regard.”
Accommodations include 32 guestrooms and suites ranging from classic double rooms to premium single rooms with a balcony, terrace or access to the garden. All rooms are also equipped with L’Occitane amenities and ecologically friendly mattresses, bedding and towels. Decor includes art, fine furnishings and tapestries.
Amenities include an outdoor freshwater swimming pool, a bathhouse and El Sitio restaurant.
