MIAMI—Nobu Hospitality, in collaboration with RCD Resorts, is schedule to open the Nobu Hotel Los Cabos, the first-ever Nobu Hotel in Mexico, in 2017. The 200-room property marks Nobu Hospitality’s ninth hotel, and is the second joint property between Nobu Hospitality and RCD Resorts following the announcement of the Nobu Hotel Eden Roc Miami Beach. Nobu Hospitality is a private company owned by Chef Nobu, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper.
“We are exceptionally proud to extend our partnership with RCD Resorts, as they have demonstrated their vision and aptitude for leading innovation in world-class resort developments. The Nobu Hotel Los Cabos will represent a new and differentiated luxury product, which will be unique for both Los Cabos and the wider resort community,” said Trevor Horwell, CEO of Nobu Hospitality. “Los Cabos continues to be a destination of choice for the luxury traveler, and this resort will embody our commitment to create a property that intertwines fun and luxury, and to offer guests from around the world a unique and exciting experience.”
The signature Nobu Restaurant and Bar will be located on the beachfront of the Pacific Ocean, and the resort will also offer event and meeting space, a spa, retail stores and a variety of dining and lounging experiences.
Monica Cuervo and Mark Yoshizaki of architectural firm WATG are lead architects for the project, and Severine Tatangelo of Studio PCH, the architectural designer of the Nobu Restaurant Malibu, is leading the design of the interiors, including the Nobu Restaurant design.
“We are extremely pleased to continue our collaboration with Nobu Hospitality, and introduce the Nobu hotel experience to Mexico. Through this partnership, our aim for the Nobu Hotel is to redefine the beachfront experience and offerings for luxury resorts,” said Roberto Chapur Sr., chairman of RCD Resorts. “Our contribution to the development of Los Cabos reflects our passion and longstanding commitment to see the destination continue to thrive as one of the greatest in the world.”
