INTERNATIONAL REPORT—Hotels and resorts open and in the works in Latin America include the first Fairfield Inn in Peru, a new concept at the Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Cancun All Inclusive Spa Resort and more.
Fairfield by Marriott Lima Miraflores
Located in Lima’s main tourist district, the Fairfield by Marriott Lima Miraflores is the brand’s first property in Peru. The hotel offers 147 rooms with separate work and rest areas. The property’s public spaces feature the “modern calm” aesthetic of the Fairfield by Marriott brand, which encompasses open layouts, multifunctional spaces and natural light.
Complimentary breakfast is offered on the rooftop with a view of El Reducto Park, while other amenities include a Corner Market, 24-hour convenience store, a business center, two meeting rooms, access to the gym and free WiFi.
Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Cancun All Inclusive Spa Resort
Located on Cancun’s most secluded stretch of white sand beach, the Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Cancún All Inclusive Spa Resort has reopened as an all-inclusive resort under the new brand concept, Infinite Luxury by Grand Fiesta Americana.
Each of the resort’s 602 oceanfront suites include a private terrace with views of the Caribbean and a lagoon-like pool. The resort also offers a dozen restaurants and bars, 24-hour in-suite dining, a fitness center and Coral KidZ Club Cancun.
All guests who book oceanfront suites are offered a complimentary island excursion to Isla Mujeres that includes round-trip ferry tickets and access to Zama Beach Club.
Casa Salles
Located adjacent to the La Guarreña distillery, home of tequila brand El Tequileño, Casa Salles in Tequila, Mexico, offers 25 rooms with Ashley beds and rainfall showers, a pool, a banquet facility, a tranquility spa and Mango Cocina de Origen restaurant.
The property takes its name from a family of tequila craftsmen. More than 60 years ago, master distiller Don Jorge Salles Cuervo and his family held celebrations on the grounds that now house the hotel. His grandson, third generation Master Distiller Jorge Antonio Salles, works the copper stills at the neighboring operation.
Temptation Miches Resorts
Original Group recently broke ground on Temptation Miches Resort and Temptation Grand Miches Resort in Miches, Dominican Republic. Slated to open in summer 2022, the two new properties will be Original Group’s first resorts outside of Mexico.
Temptation Miches Resort, a 382-suite property, and Temptation Grand Miches Resort, a more exclusive 114-suite property, will feature topless optional areas, adult-centric entertainment and all-inclusive amenities.
Botánika Osa Peninsula, Curio Collection by Hilton
After more than 20 years as one of Costa Rica’s most well-known billfish sportfishing destinations, Crocodile Bay Resort has begun its transformation into Botánika Osa Peninsula, Curio Collection by Hilton. Slated to open in October 2021, it will be the first branded residential resort and marina development in Costa Rica.
Plans for Botánika include up to 106 studio-, one-, two- and three-bedroom Curio Collection rainforest residences. The professional team includes resort management by Aqua-Aston Hospitality, architecture by Gensler and Modus Operandi, interior design by Francisco Jove of Modus Operandi and landscaping by Pete Geyer of Geyer Coburn Hutchins (GCH).
Special features of the resort grounds will include exclusive nature trails and themed gardens, including an orchid garden, a hummingbird garden, a medicinal garden and a bamboo garden. Other amenities will include a fitness center, a three-meal restaurant and bar, a conference center and a lagoon-style resort pool with hanging swings and fairy lights.
