First DoubleTree by Hilton Opens in Queensland

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA—The first DoubleTree by Hilton has opened in Queensland.

The 237-room Cairns hotel, formerly a Holiday Inn, occupies a waterfront location on the Coral Sea and marks the fourth DoubleTree by Hilton in Australia and the 400th hotel in the brand’s global portfolio.

Guests have a choice of 161 double-double rooms, 75 king rooms and one king one-bedroom suite.

The hotel features The Atrium restaurant and the Lobby Bar, an outdoor swimming pool, 24-hour fitness and business centers, tour desk, meeting and event space for up to 160 guests, and open-air rainforest garden with a barramundi pond.
