Fairmont To Resume Management Of New York’s Plaza Hotel

TORONTO— Fairmont Hotels & Resorts based here has agreed to resume management of New Yorks Plaza Hotel, which Fairmont had managed before the hotel closed last year for a major renovation and conversion of part of the property into residential condominiums. The hotels new owner is Elad Properties. As a result of the $350 million renovation, which is expected to be completed in early-2007, the hotel portion of the original building will feature 282 guestrooms, 152 of which are condo hotel units. The building also will contain an unspecified number of pure condo residences as well as high-end retail space
