TORONTO-Fairmont Hotels & Resorts today announced it was rolling out wireless check-in and check-out kiosks at all its hotels by year-end, starting with the Royal York here. In introducing the machines, Fairmont joins Hilton Hotels Corp. and Hyatt Hotels, which have embraced the technology on a large scale. Unlike these hotels systems, Fairmonts version allows guests to choose a specific guest room from a grid-like property map similar to the functionality offered by airline kiosks. Fairmont vp of technology Vineet Gupta said the intention of the 44-property chain was to “provide guests with the industrys most sophisticated self-service solution.”
