SPARTANBURG, SC— HVM, LLC, the operator of Extended Stay Hotels based here, has acquired three Alaska hotels and rebranded them as Extended Stay Deluxe properties. The properties, which formerly had been known as Aspen Suites Hotels, are located in Juneau, Fairbanks, and Anchorage. HVM, LLC, which is an affiliate of the Blackstone Group, plans to retrofit the hotels guestrooms with full kitchens, DVD players, and pillow-top mattresses, among other amenities. HVM, LLC, has positioned Extended Stay Deluxe as the top tier of Extended Stay Hotels, but a notch below such upscale extended stay brands as Residence Inn by Marriott and Homewood Suites by Hilton. With the new acquisitions, Extended Stay Hotels has four hotels in Alaska and more than 675 nationwide and in Canada. All are company owned and operated.
