CHARLOTTE, NC—Extended Stay America, Inc. has appointed Kevin Henry as the company’s EVP and chief human resources officer, effective immediately.

Henry will report directly to CEO Jim Donald and will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s human resource functions and guest relations across the portfolio’s nearly 700 locations in the U.S. and Canada. Henry will succeed Robert Joyce, who is retiring. Joyce will continue in an advisory capacity until the end of the year.

“Kevin is proficient in developing and supporting large employee based organizations and joins our company with an exceptional track record of achieving greater productivity, quality of service and cost-effectiveness,” said Donald. “Kevin is a valuable addition to our team and we’re fortunate to have him join our Executive Leadership Team. Finally, we would like to thank Bob for his leadership and contributions to Extended Stay America over the past several years, and his assistance as we transition this role.”
