DENVER—Exclusive Resorts has appointed longtime company veteran, hospitality industry leader and current COO Cathy Ross as CEO. Current CEO Philippe Bourguignon will become executive co-chairman of the board alongside the company’s majority owner, Steve Case.
“Cathy has played an invaluable and strategic role in the growth of the company as we’ve significantly enhanced our club—providing an improved experience for our members that is more flexible, offers more destinations and unique travel options,” said Bourguignon. “Her dedication to the company, proven track record as a leader and deep understanding of what matters to Exclusive Resorts members makes her the perfect choice to lead the company.”
With more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality and real estate industries, Ross joined Exclusive Resorts in 2003 as SVP of real estate and oversaw the development and oversight of the club’s portfolio. She was appointed to the position of COO in 2014.
“Thanks to Philippe’s leadership, there has never been a better time to be an Exclusive Resorts member,” said Case. “And as every great leader should, he has identified and cultivated great executive talent. Elevating Cathy to this new role was an easy decision, and I look forward to working with Philippe as my new co-chairman, as he remains laser focused on creating and enhancing the company’s long term vision.”
Ross’ appointment to CEO comes at a time of continued momentum for Exclusive Resorts, according to the company. This past year, it has offered a number of new experiences and destinations for its members, ranging from an Airstream customized road trip to expanded private travel options to destinations such as Nicaragua and Peru.
