MONTREAL— Embassy Suites Hotels plans to open its first hotel in Montreal, Quebec. The hotel is owned by Vancouver, British Columbia-based Aquilini Group Properties LP and will be managed by Pacrim Hospitality Services, Inc. The 210-suite property is slated to open in July and will be the brands second in Canada. It will be located directly across from the Palais de Congrés de Montréal, Montreals Convention Center. Jim Holthouser, senior vp of brand management for Embassy Suites Hotels, noted that expansion in the Canadian market is instrumental to the brand’s international growth strategy and its goal of reaching 300 hotels by 2010. The hotel will carry the “by Hilton” moniker in its name and exterior signage. Recently, the brand announced it will add “by Hilton” to existing and future hotels in Latin America and Canada. The moniker addition will also be carried out for Hampton and Doubletree hotels in those regions.
