TRURO, NOVA SCOTIA—Driftwood Hospitality Management plans to develop a new upper midscale hotel here, marking the company’s official entry into Canada.

The 94-room hotel, which will built in partnership with the Milbrook First Nation community, will be located in the Truro Power Centre, a retail, restaurant and entertainment center off Highway 102. The property, which will be managed by Driftwood and is slated for completion in 2015, will feature an indoor pool with a waterslide, complimentary hot breakfast and 700 square feet of meeting space.

“With a booming economy, ideal location near Highway 2012 and less than 40 minutes from Halifax Stanfield International Airport, this hotel will emerge as one of the leading properties in the area,” said David Buddemeyer, president of Driftwood Hospitality Management. “We look forward to leveraging our experience in construction and new builds, in collaboration with the Millbrook First Nation.”
