BEVERLY HILLS, CA— The 100 millionth Doubletree Chocolate Chip Cookie, emblematic of the Hilton brand’s product, is waiting its turn to be delivered to one of the brand’s 155 properties in the United States, Mexico and Latin America and presented to a guest some time during the next four weeks. Dave Horton, svp/brand management for Doubletree, called the sweet “an icon that symbolizes the warm welcome and genuine, caring service that people expect when they stay at Doubletree hotels. We embrace our cookie as an integral part of our Doubletree culture and personality. Our team members are excited to have reached this significant milestone in our brands history, when they can proudly say they have consistently delivered a special amenity to our guests, customers and friends 100 million times!” Horton will personally present the 100 millionth cookie to the guest during check-in. In the 1980s, many Doubletree properties across the country began the tradition of baking warm chocolate chip cookies solely for VIP guests. However, in 1995, Doubletree enlisted the services of Nashville-based Christie Cookie Co. to hold the secret recipe to a consistent chocolate chip cookie that could be delivered and presented to every Doubletree guest at check-in. During the past seven years, Doubletree has developed a loyal following of chocolate chip cookie lovers and delivered the same chocolate chip cookie to millions of hotel guests and customers.
