MCLEAN, VA—DoubleTree by Hilton today opens DoubleTree by Hilton Lawrence, its first property in Lawrence, KS. Located at 200 McDonald Dr., the 192-room, four-level upscale hotel is within 10 blocks of the University of Kansas and is accessible to downtown Lawrence’s historic landmarks, boutiques, restaurants and numerous corporate offices as well as area airports.
Following a multimillion-dollar renovation, the hotel offers travelers to Northeastern Kansas/Western Missouri convenient, service-focused lodging and one of the area’s only full-service convention centers, according to the company. Designed in a rustic chic theme with a modern twist, the remodeled public areas, guestrooms and dining facilities complement updates made to the 18,000-sq.-ft. convention center.

The redesigned lobby and other public areas are contemporary in design and appointed with wood and Midwestern stone accents and feature a palette of warm hues. Guestrooms and suites feature new decor and furniture and are equipped with a refrigerator, desk, in-room safe and the brand’s signature bedding. Several suites are available, providing more space in the separate living area, a compact kitchenette and multiple sleeper sofas. Free WiFi is offered in each guestroom and suite, as well as in all public areas.
DoubleTree by Hilton Lawrence offers 19,125 sq. ft. of meeting and banquet space, including two divisible ballrooms. The largest, the Regency Ballroom, can seat up to 600 guests banquet style or 1,000 guests, theater-style. Two permanent boardrooms, a hospitality room and sound system and A/V equipment are available along with catering services and a dedicated events staff.
The hotel offers numerous F&B options in the lobby; room service and a 24-hour market are available.
In-room amenities include the Wake Up DoubleTree Breakfast, an assortment of in-room tea and coffee offerings by The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, and an array of the Aroma Actives Essentials natural skin and body care line.
