ENGLEWOOD, CO—Destination Hotels promoted Tom Luersen to EVP/operations.
In his new role, Luersen will lead the operations function for the company, working closely with all functional leaders across Operations, Sales & Marketing, Business Development, Performance Optimization Group, Human Resources, IT, Finance and Design.
Luersen’s tenure with Destination Hotels began in 1998 as a managing director for Sunriver Resort in Bend, OR, and continued with him playing a leading role in expanding the company presence in the Pacific Northwest region.
Luersen was instrumental in the operational oversight across key urban, resort and conference center properties in the western region, including Suncadia Resort, developed by Lowe Destination Development in 2005 and the renovation and repositioning of a chain hotel in downtown Seattle to a new independent brand, Motif Seattle in June, according to the company.
Luersen will expand oversight of key investor and capital partnerships with Destination hotel owners.
“Throughout his time with our company, Tom has proven to be more than just a successful business leader, but also a real partner and team builder. We look forward to supporting Tom’s continued success in this expanded role.” stated Jamie Sabatier, president/COO at Destination Hotels.
