NEW YORK—Début Hotel Group and Hampshire Hotels Management tapped David Kuperberg to lead the development efforts for the company’s lifestyle brands, including Dream Hotels, Time Hotels, Night Hotels, Augustus Hotels and Resorts and Unscripted Hotels.
Kuperberg has been working with the company since April 2013 and has been integral to the growth of its domestic and international pipeline, including the soon-to-open Dream Hollywood hotel.
Prior to joining the company, Kuperberg held a variety of roles with Virgin Hotels and Wyndham Worldwide. At Virgin, he was the head of development, charged with leading the business’ global expansion. At Wyndham, he served as VP of development and strategy, as well as senior director of mergers and acquisitions. During his tenure there, he oversaw the acquisition of Ramada International from Marriott International, resulting in the acquisition of more than 200 international hotels, which launched Wyndham’s global business. He also oversaw the acquisition of the Tryp hotel brand from Meliá Hotels, representing 94 hotels across Europe and South America. In addition, he helped establish a joint venture with Malta-based Corinthia Group, which resulted in the rebranding of Corinthia’s hotels under Wyndham Hotel Group flags.
Kuperberg was previously an associate at True North Capital, a private equity group and merchant bank that provided financing solutions to companies in the United States and Europe as well as a strategy consultant at Computer Sciences Corporation in the management consulting division.
He holds a bachelor of arts in history from University of California at Berkeley and a masters in health management from Yale University.
