MERRILLVILLE, IN—The Courtyard by Marriott Erie Bayfront has opened in Erie, PA, and features the brand’s latest contemporary room design.
Located at 2 Sassafras Pier, the 192-room hotel will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned by Erie County Convention Center Authority and managed by White Lodging Services based here. Situated on the shore of Presque Isle Bay and attached to the Bayfront Convention Center, the hotel is seven miles from Erie International Airport and close to downtown.
“From day one, Courtyard has prided itself as a brand that listens to business travelers,” said Callette Nielsen, VP and global brand manager, Courtyard. “Today’s technology has changed how people travel. Our guests want a room that has purpose and flexibility that enables a seamless transition between relaxing and working. Courtyard is designed to offer them a relaxing and functional space to work the way they want to, when they want to.”
The hotel’s Shoreline Bar and Grille is a cocktail bar and eatery offering regional ingredients, craft cocktails and locally sourced beers.
“White Lodging is proud to partner with the Erie Convention Center Authority on this beautiful hotel. We believe customer service and spirited food and beverage will be a differentiator for this hotel. We are excited to share crafted cocktails, local beers, wines and cuisine inspired from all points of the Great Lakes,” said David Lanterman, regional VP for White Lodging.
The brand’s latest room design offers hybrid zones for working, sleeping, relaxing and getting ready. Indirect lighting and a neutral, tone-on-tone color palette help to complete the look.
Upon arrival, guests can store bags on the “Luggage Drop” and plug personal devices into the “Tech Drop” ledge for seamless technology integration. The lobby also features The Bistro–Eat. Drink. Connect, offering casual dining. The S-Bar offers light evening fare, including snacks, cocktails, and wine and beer service.
The business library features several computer terminals, along with a printer and separate computer stations to print airline boarding passes and check flight status.
The five-story hotel features an indoor swimming pool and whirlpool spa, an outdoor infinity pool, a fitness center, guest laundry and the Shoreline Bar and Grille. There is 1,500 sq. ft. of indoor meeting space, as well as 20,000 sq. ft. of patio space for events called the Anchor Plaza.
