Conrad Brand Moving Into U.S.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA HOTEL BUSINESS. has learned that the Conrad hotel brand, currently with 12 properties in Europe, the Middle East, South America and Australia, will open its first U.S. property in a major gateway city in the first half of 2001.

Other Conrad hotel openings in the United States will follow, according to Hilton Hotels Corp. executives. The move is part of a newly announced strategy made jointly by Hilton Group Plc and Hilton Hotels Corp. to expand the luxury Conrad brand in the U.S. The two companies have formed a joint venture to grow the brand globally.
