JERSEY CITY, NJ—Officials with Hyatt Hotels and Concord Hospitality, along with Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop, on August 11 will mark the start of construction of the $90 million Hyatt House Hotel at 1 Exchange Place here by signing an 800-pound support beam that will become part of                                               the foundation.

The 258-room hotel, the sixth in the city, will be an adaptive reuse of the first bank building in the state, the former First National Bank of Jersey City, which has stood at the corner of Exchange Place and Hudson St. since 1922.
