SAN FRANCISCO—Commune Hotels & Resorts, Geolo Capital and Seattle-based real estate firm Touchstone plan to open a ground-up, mixed-use development consisting of hotel, residential and retail components, including Thompson Seattle, the brand’s first property in the Pacific Northwest.
Architectural teams from Washington-based firms Olson Kundig and Jensen Fey, and interiors firm Munge Leung, under the direction of Commune Hotels’ in-house design team, have been tapped for the project. It is currently scheduled to open spring 2016.
Located downtown on the corner of 1st Ave. and Stewart St., the hotel will offer views of the Puget Sound and Olympic Mountain Range, and will be adjacent to Pike Place Market. The 12-story Thompson Seattle will feature 159 guestrooms, 97 residences, a ground-floor restaurant, subterranean parking, an estimated 1,600 sq. ft. of retail space and a rooftop deck with 9,500 sq. ft. of indoor/outdoor space.
