ROCKVILLE, MD—Choice Hotels International, Inc. has signed an agreement with franchise partner Pearl Properties, a Philadelphia-based full-service investment real estate company, to develop a new Cambria Hotel & Suites in Philadelphia. The 206-room Cambria property will be located at 219-225 S. Broad St. (N.E. Corner of Broad & Locust Sts.) along the Ave. of The Arts, and is expected to open in 2017. The hotel will be operated by Concord Hospitality Enterprises Company.

“This is a milestone for the Cambria brand as we continue to fuel our expansion in the upscale segment and focus on a culture of exceptional service,” says Michael Murphy, SVP, upscale brands, Choice Hotels International. “To us, it’s not only about building great properties but also building a brand promise that we can deliver to all guests that makes every guest feel like a VIP.”

Pearl Properties has extensive development experience in Center City Philadelphia. Notable projects completed by Pearl include The Granary Apartments, The Sansom and 1700 Chestnut. Pearl owns several marquee properties in its Center City portfolio, including 1401 Walnut located in the heart of the Ave. of The Arts.

Like all Cambria hotels, the Philadelphia property will feature a larger lobby to give guests a more social atmosphere; oversized rooms with flexible spaces; and the latest technology that allows guests to stay connected. It will feature other amenities such as a contemporary bistro, Social Circle, serving a menu of local specialties created by Chef Michael DeMaria; liquor, wine, beer and freshly prepared grab-and-go gourmet salads and sandwiches; and a barista bar. The hotel will also feature a first-class restaurant on the ground floor.
