CHARLESTON, SC—Sam Trotter has named corporate brand strategist for Charlestowne Hotels, based here.

Trotter will be responsible for brand strategy throughout Charlestowne’s portfolio of hotels. His extensive knowledge of hotel operations, management, real estate and ecommerce will bring an added level of strategic vision to further position in-house marketing initiatives, according to the company. At Boutique Hospitality Management in Miami, he served as its director of ecommerce and business development for domestic and international assets.

“Sam’s knowledge is a perfect fit for us as we look to continually be ahead of our competition. As online travel agencies continuously invest in increasing market share, we are also investing to mitigate their efforts with talented team members,” said Michael Tall, president and COO. “We also look to use Trotter strategically as we work with hotel investors on development and reposition projects.”

“Charlestowne Hotels is an aggressive marketer of its properties and leads its peers in RevPAR growth. It’s exciting to be with a group that is clearly positioned for continued growth,” said Trotter.
