Carlson Rezidor Signs Radisson Red Guangzhou South Station

GUANGZHOU, CHINA—Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has signed a management agreement for Radisson Red Guangzhou South Station here.

Owned by Guangzhou ROFO Real Estate Development Co., Ltd., this new-build hotel is the second Radisson Red hotel for Carlson Rezidor in China and its fifth in Asia-Pacific. The property is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2018 and brings Carlson Rezidor’s Asia-Pacific pipeline to 91 hotels.

“Radisson Red provides owners and developers a product that we believe will be a leader in the lifestyle segment. The brand appeals to guests who have an ageless Millennial mindset, and truly redefines the guest experience,” said Thorsten Kirschke, president, Asia-Pacific, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group. “Red is bold, alive and design-driven while being creative in its functional use.”

The brand leverages local art and multifunctional design solutions to flow between spaces, breaking down the walls traditional hotels use to separate areas such as lobby, restaurants, bars and meeting spaces, according to the company. Touches of Scandinavian design are evident in the guestrooms with efficient and functional furniture pieces, highlighted by replacing the conventional desk with Red’s signature picnic table.

The 160-key hotel is located in the new Central Business District of Panyu District, across from Guangzhou South Railway Station. It is slated to feature a sky lobby and an infinity pool.

“With the expertise and experience of this leading global hospitality group, we are assured of a strong return on our investment. We are confident that Radisson Red Guangzhou South Station will be a great success,” said Marco Li, CEO, Guangzhou ROFO Real Estate Development Co., Ltd.
