MINNEAPOLIS—Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has rolled out its Sports Approved Hotel program across its Radisson, Park Inn by Radisson and Country Inns & Suites By Carlson hotels in the Americas.

“At Carlson Rezidor, we are committed to providing experiences that exceed the expectations of our guests,” said Kaaren Hamilton, VP, global group sales, Americas, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group. “This program allows our hotels to gain the training and certification to effectively host sports teams and provide enhanced services and is something we feel is unique in the industry and will deliver on that commitment.”

The program allows hotels to earn an official Sports Approved designation, and offers services that help teams prepare for their next big game, according to the company. Whether it is professional sports, collegiate sports, high school sports or youth athletics, the program caters to all athletes and teams regardless of age, level or sport.

In addition to the array of services and amenities provided by Radisson, Park Inn by Radisson and Country Inns & Suites, sports teams who book at participating hotels will receive group pre-keyed and rooms pre-blocked to expedite the check-in process; complimentary meeting spaces based on availability for team meetings; local information and directions to sports fields or complexes; discounted coupons for restaurants across hotel properties; team welcome sign with special recognition for head coach or group manager and more.

According to the Sports Facilities Advisory, the youth sports movement has become a $7 billion industry in travel alone. The Sports Approved Hotel program enables hotels across the Americas to effectively host sports teams with a team of experts readily available to connect and work closely with sports groups prior to the stay, according to the company.
