WASHINGTON—Capstone Development LLC has acquired the 195-room Westin National Harbor Hotel here. The hotel was purchased from a private seller.
“National Harbor is one of the premier mixed-use developments on the East Coast and is within close proximity to Washington, DC, and its robust sources of lodging demand,” said Norman K. Jenkins, president of Capstone Development. “The Westin at National Harbor is one of the best hotel properties in suburban Washington and will benefit from Capstone’s highly focused asset management, and the integration with Marriott’s distribution systems and loyalty program, which will occur in 2018.”
The acquisition of the Westin National Harbor is in keeping with Capstone’s strategy of developing and acquiring premium-branded, select-service and compact full-service hotels, according to the company. Capstone plans an extensive interior renovation of the property in 2018. The Westin will be operated by Crestline Hotels & Resorts.
