ST. JOHN, USVI— The second half of Caneel Bay Resorts 166 guestrooms will undergo renovations this year, the first half having been completed by year-end 2006. The updated designfeatures hand-crafted furniture, woven fabrics, overstuffed furniture, louvered walls, and original art work. The resort, which celebrated its 50th anniversary last year, has always been known for its pioneering sensitivity to the environment. The low-key atmosphere extends to guestrooms, which have neither telephones nor televisions. The resort has been mnaged by Rosewood Hotels & Resorts since 1993.
