NATIONAL REPORT—Choice Hotels International’s Cambria brand is expanding across the U.S., with planned debuts in Vermont and Nebraska, and a second property now open in Charleston, SC.
Vermont’s Largest City to Welcome State’s First Cambria
Cambria Hotels plans to open a hotel in Vermont, following Choice Hotels International’s agreement with Hospitality Funding Inc. and TQP Capital Partners to develop a 142-room hotel, slated to open in 2021.
Located at 266 College St., the new Cambria hotel in Burlington will preserve the historic facade of the existing structure, which was built in 1934 and formerly housed the Greater Burlington YMCA. Located on one of Burlington’s busiest thoroughfares, the hotel is a few blocks from the University of Vermont (UVM) and the UVM Medical Center—the state’s largest university and medical center, respectively—as well as Champlain College and The Church Street Marketplace, an outdoor, pedestrian-friendly shopping district.
The Burlington Cambria will be operated by Hostmark Hospitality, a hotel management firm based in Schaumburg, IL.
Cambria Opens First Hotel in The Cornhusker State
Cambria Hotels marked its arrival in Nebraska with the grand opening of the Cambria Hotel Omaha Downtown. The 128-room hotel is the newest addition to Omaha’s growing NoDo district.
The LEED Silver Certified hotel incorporates a number of eco-friendly features throughout the building, including a solar array on the roof, a salt water pool that reduces chemical usage, Tesla and electric vehicle charging stations, and locally-sourced, recycled building materials.
Cambria Opens Second Location In Charleston, SC
Franchised by Choice Hotels International Inc., the Cambria Hotels brand continues its South Carolina expansion with the opening of Charleston’s newest hotel—the Cambria Hotel Charleston Riverview. The 126-room hotel is located at 84 Ripley Point Dr., along South Carolina’s scenic Ashley River.
The Cambria Hotel Charleston Riverview joins the Cambria Hotel Mount Pleasant – Charleston, which opened in July 2018. Several other Cambria hotels are in the pipeline across the Palmetto state, including in Fort Mill, Greenville, Summerville, and Spartanburg.
