PHOENIX—Cambria Hotels & Suites held a groundbreaking celebration today, kicking off construction of the new Cambria at Chandler Viridian, a 25-acre, mixed-use development in Chandler, AZ.

Hines, an international real estate firm and owner of Chandler Viridian, joined Cambria at the ceremony to mark the occasion. Slated to open in 2017, the property will feature 136 rooms, a pool with cabanas, fitness room, lounge area and 1,300 sq. ft. of meeting space.

The hotel developer is Concord Hospitality Enterprises of Raleigh, NC, working closely with hotel contractor Layton Construction of Phoenix and architect DLR Group of Minneapolis.

The contemporary bistro Social Circle, will serve a menu comprised of local specialties created by Chef Michael DeMaria, along with liquor, wine and local craft beers.
