BOYNE FALLS, MI Boyne USA Resorts, an outdoor recreation company, is investing $150 million to renovate and expand its ski, golf and lodging facilities.

Boyne Mountain Resort recently broke ground on a 222-room hotel to be called the Mountain Grand Lodge & Spa. Two 18-hole golf courses, convention facilities, ski runs and more than 1,200 condominiums will be added as well.

The Bavarian-style hotel, scheduled to open in 2002, will offer a spa and fitness center, specialty shops, cafi, outdoor skating rink and teen activity center.

The expansion is being driven by growth in airline flights, new roads, rising wages and more leisure travel. (9/24/00)
