DHAKA, BANGLADESH—Best Western International signed an agreement with Maple Leaf Hotel & Resorts Ltd. for a new-build hotel located adjacent Bangladesh’s main international air gateway, Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Currently under construction, the hotel, located here, will operate under the upscale Best Western Plus product when it opens in second quarter. All 56 rooms will include amenities such as flat-screen TVs with satellite channels, minibars, tea- and coffee-making equipment and complimentary WiFi.
The hotel will feature an all-day restaurant serving local and international dishes, a bar, fitness center, sauna, steam room and spa. There also will be a rooftop barbecue outlet.
“With a population of more than 160 million people—the eighth largest in the world—and a fast-growing manufacturing industry, Bangladesh is becoming an increasingly important regional and global player,” stated Glenn de Souza, BWI’s VP/International Operations for Asia and the Middle East.
