THE WOODLANDS, TX—Benchmark Hospitality International has added Hotel Zelos San Francisco, a boutique property in San Francisco, to its Personal Luxury Resorts & Hotels brand collection. Pebblebrook Hotel Trust of Bethesda, MD, owns the luxury hotel.

“Centered in the heart of downtown San Francisco, the hotel is perfectly located for both the business and leisure traveler, and is within walking distance of the Moscone Convention Center,” said Alex Cabañas, Benchmark’s president & CEO. “As part of the transition, Benchmark currently has plans to retain all of the existing employees. We are not only extremely impressed with the hotel, but also with the caliber of the hospitality team at Hotel Zelos.”

Hotel Zelos, which takes its new name from the Greek god of dedication and zeal, originally opened in 1999 as Hotel Palomar San Francisco and quickly rose to prominence as one of the city’s top-ranked hotels, known for its cutting-edge design and innovative guest services, according to Benchmark Hospitality International. The hotel features 202 guestrooms and suites, 3,000 sq. ft. of flexible meeting and event space, and is also home to the bar/restaurant Dirty Habit.
