BOSTON IV Beacon, the luxurious hotel on Beacon Hill that opened in January, has been named the No. 1 performer in city properties by the industry trade magazine Lodging Hospitality. With just 61 rooms, it still led the league in the sales-per-room category, which is defined as the sales volume of the property divided by the number of rooms. Cost per night range from $350 to $3,500, the latter for a floor of six rooms. (8/28/00)
